Abstract
In this case report, we present a 61-year-old female who applied to the emergency service by generalized tetanus with an incubation period of 5 days, due to a dirty injury after which only the tetanus vaccine was applied. The patient whose first signs were risus sardonicus and trismus was intubated because of respiratory distress and the patient was followed in the intensive care unit afterwards. Although all the medical treatment was given, she died on the 23rd day of admission because of progressive autonomic dysfunction.
