Abstract
Organ transplantation, hematologic malignancies, prolonged intensive care unit stay, long-term antibiotic exposure, and glucocorticoid therapy are among the major risk factors for invasive mold infections. Data on the epidemiology of invasive mold infections are limited both in Türkiye and worldwide. Although various Fusarium species have been reported as pathogens in many fungemia cases, fungemia caused by the Fusarium proliferatum species complex is exceedingly rare in the literature. In this report, we present a case of fungemia due to the Fusarium proliferatum species complex in a patient with acute myeloid leukemia (AML), highlighting the distinct clinical features observed in this case.
