The aim of this study was to evaluate the rates of sepsis after urologic interventions in Pamukkale University.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p> <strong>Methods<\/strong>: Infectious Diseases and Clinical Microbiology Physician diagnosed sepsis in 84 of the 1170 patients who underwent surgical intervention.<\/p>\n<p> <strong>Results<\/strong>: The frequency of sepsis after urologic interventions was 7.2%. Percutaneus nephrolithotomy, extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy, transurethral resection of the prostate and bladder were the most frequent interventions causing sepsis development. The most commonly isolated pathogen was Escherichia coli with a rate of 45.2%.<\/p>\n<p> <strong>Conclusions<\/strong>: \u00a0Primary bloodstream infection was determined in 1.2% of the patients and secondary bloodstream infection due to urinary system infection was determined in 59.5% of the patients.
